The parkland setting is delightful. Chances are, though, you’ll only drive past Marchant Park kindy if your kids go there.

ORIGINALLY known as Chermside Kindergarten (established 1972) our kindergarten was relocated in 1983 to 7th Brigade Park (formerly part of Marchant Park) and renamed Marchant Park Kindergarten.

We are proud to have provided a kindy education to thousands of children from our surrounding suburbs of Geebung, Wavell Heights, Aspley, Chermside and Zillmere.

Marchant Park Kindergarten is a community-based, not-for-profit association, with all profits reinvested to benefit children and the community. This association and its assets are owned by the parent body, which elects a Management Committee each year to operate the centre effectively.

C&K affiliation

C&K is a voluntary, non-profit organisation responsible for monitoring standards in community kindergartens and pre-schools.

As such, C&K distributes the Department of Education and the Arts Kindergarten Funding Scheme (QKFS) monies throughout the state, to all approved affiliated community kindergartens which meet specific requirements.

This funding contributes to the overall funding of each individual centre, and the Management Committee is responsible for the remaining operational costs.

These costs are covered by fees and fundraising, and the committee relies upon the commitment of the parents to become involved in these efforts.

As an affiliated centre we adhere to the “C&K Building waterfalls” curriculum framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.

Founded in 1907, C&K is proud to be the largest and longest established provider of community-based early childhood education and childcare services in Queensland.

C&K are committed to providing quality education and care for your child’s pre-schooling years. C&K have more than 400 Department of Education and the Arts-funded centres and child-related services for families with young children across the state.

Government-approved program – the kindy tick

We are pleased to provide a Queensland Government approved kindergarten program and our kindy has been rated overall as exceeding national quality standards by the Department of Education, Training and Employment.

General information

Being a single stream kindy (only one class unit a day), the children thrive within a nurturing environment with consistent and regular known playmates and attendance times.

Importantly, the same qualified teacher and assistant are with our children every day throughout the year.

Kindy really does become their second home and this level of consistency is designed to informally mirror the coming school years and narrows the sometimes daunting transition from kindy to formal education at Prep.

Operating Hours

Operating from 8.30am–2.30pm, Marchant Park Kindy offers two streams – Monday, Tuesday, and every alternate Wednesday or every other Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Subsidies are available for families with children aged between 3½ and 4½ who hold a Health Care Card.
