Conviently located in Geebung, Marchant Park Kindergarten is a community based, not for profit Kindy.

We pride a nurturing and educationally rich experience for children in the year prior to formal schooling.

Our Kindergarten has been caring for and educating children since 1983. We are an incorporated organization and managed by a Committee of parents, elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the beginning of each year.

As a not for profit organization, all profits are reinvested to benefit the children and the community.

We are a well resourced and maintained service with excellent grounds and play equipment. As a quiet, single unit Kindy with only 22 children attending each day, our setting has been known to be a child’s ‘oasis’, where they are free to play and learn in a safe and supportive environment.

Government-Approved Program

We are pleased to provide a Queensland Government approved kindergarten program and our kindy has been rated overall as exceeding national quality standards by the Department of Education, Training and Employment.

Our Teachers

As educators we actively engage in ongoing professional development. We are committed to continually reflecting and improving on our own teaching and learning practices. We teach in ways that reflect our own personalities and beliefs and we are also flexible in encouraging the children to explore the ways in which they like to learn and in ways that are meaningful to them.

We work collaboratively with our colleagues and affirm, challenge, support and learn from each other to further develop our skills and improve our practice and relationships. We recognise families as the experts in their child’s wellbeing and learning and we highly value the children’s and families’ input and contributions to the curriculum. Working collaboratively with our families and community is essential in providing a quality education, as this autonomy and ownership motivates and promotes the children’s learning.

We believe that every child has a right to an education in which they are supported to attain their maximum potential and we are committed to providing every child in our centre with a high quality educational experience. We look forward to what each new year brings for ourselves, the children and the families in our care and to sharing in each family’s learning journey throughout the year.

I began teaching as a mature age student and my passion for the work I do remains after more than 25 years of teaching. I value creating a fun learning environment that engages children’s minds, bodies and senses. I truly enjoy the wonder of childhood. I have used this same philosophy as I have raised my own two children.
