I have been involved in the Education sector for the last 10 years. I started my teaching career as a small- school teacher in rural Queensland after graduating with a Bachelor of Education in 2015. After spending time in the school setting, I realised that Kindy is my jam, and have been working in the early years sector ever since!  My time spent teaching in primary schools has given me a firm understanding of what is required of children at school and the knowledge of how to best prepare kindergarten children for the transition to Prep.  I place a big emphasis on social and emotional readiness and learning through play.

I pride myself on creating strong relationships with all my students, every child is unique and should be treated so. I have worked with children and families that have experienced differing levels of early trauma, this is something that I find very rewarding – building up trust with a child and watching that child grow and succeed throughout the year.

I am also passionate about early literacy, nature, loose parts and risky play! This opens the door to so many learning opportunities and discussions. This is something that I am really excited to bring to Marchant Park.

I am a Mum to one dog, ‘Milo’ he is a pretty big part of my life and I’m sure your children will be going home telling you all about him. As a child I attended a Community Kindy, I still see my Kindy teacher to this day and it is my hope that one day when I am 85 I will still have my very much grown up students involved in my life.
